Understanding your data usage can help you save money on a low-limit data plan or can help you realize that you really do need a pricier.

Data usage is how much data your device uploads or downloads while on Wi-Fi. To make sure that you're not using too much data on your data plan, you can check and control your data usage.

Your Plan Information

This section of the portal shows your current plan information including data usage and the date of of your next plan renewal.

If you are on an unlimited plan, you will not see data usage information here.

 

Plan period: 

Shows how many days you are into your current plan, and the date at which your plan is due for renewal. Plan changes or cancellations must be made before this date.

Total usage:

Shows the total amount of data included in your current plan and how much data you have used so far (Gb and % of allowance)

Data usage notifications

VostroNet sends both an email and a text message (SMS) notification when you reach 50%, 85% and finally 100% of your included monthly data allowance.

Excess data usage

VostroNet does not automatically charge for excess data.

When you have used all of the data allowance included in your plan, your connection speed is rate-limited to 128 kbit/s. You can still connect your device but the speed is restricted to a lower speed.

Upgrading your plan

You can upgrade your plan at any time by clicking the "Change plan" button and selecting a new plan.

When a successful purchase is made, your speed change will take take effect immediately.
